After completing degree’s in economics and science (applied mathematics) in early 1994 I joined the workforce briefly working in commercial property before moving into the energy sector where I spent over 10 years in Government, the Queensland state based Regulator and then in a private sector provider of energy (AGL). During this time I also completed a coursework masters in economics part time.

In 2004 my career took a U-turn and I ended up starting a PhD in economics at the University of Queensland; my supervisors were Professor John Foster, Dr Stuart McDonald and Dr Jason Potts (now Professor Jason Potts at RMIT). My PhD topic was “An Analysis of Information Flows within Small World Networks and the Effect on Financial Prices”. Click here to view a copy of the abstract.

I also convened the seminar series for the School. I have since moved to Swinburne University of Technology where I convenene the first year Microeconomics subject for 5 years.
